Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common queries about my services and how I can assist you.
Do I need to be fit before I start?
Not at all. You don’t need a baseline level of fitness to train with me, that’s what I’m here for. Sessions are tailored to you, your body, your history, and your goals. We start where you are and build strength safely and progressively.
Do you work with people during or after cancer treatment?
Yes. I’m a Level 4 Cancer Rehabilitation Specialist and work with clients before, during and after treatment and long-term beyond cancer. Exercise is adapted to how you’re feeling on the day, with a strong focus on safety, confidence, and helping you feel capable in your body again.
Is strength training safe if I have injuries, joint pain, or health conditions?
In most cases, yes, and it’s often one of the best things you can do. Strength training is scaled, controlled, and appropriate for your needs. We focus on good movement, manageable loads, and long-term joint and bone health. If needed, I’ll also liaise with medical or healthcare professionals.
What does a typical session look like?
Sessions usually include:
A gentle warm-up and mobility work
Strength training tailored to your goals and ability
Optional cardio or conditioning (where appropriate)
Time to check in and adjust based on how you’re feeling
Everything is un-rushed, supportive, and designed to help you feel stronger, not exhausted
Is this just about weight loss?
No. My focus is strength, health, and long-term resilience. While body composition can change as a result of training, the primary goal is helping you feel strong, capable, and confident now and as you age. This is about building a body that supports your life.
